Zeina Dried Lavender Buds 100 g

Zeina Dried Lavender Buds are culinary-grade flower buds, small, slate-purple and closed, separated from the stalks so only the fragrant part goes into the pot. The perfume is floral and sweetly herbal with a faint camphor note, and it is strong: a quarter teaspoon per cup or per batch is usually the right measure. Steep the buds in water just off the boil for four minutes for a pale infusion, or add them to a pot of tea with mint. Bury a spoonful in a jar of sugar for a week to scent it for shortbread, sponge and icing, simmer them into syrup for lemonade and iced drinks, or fold a pinch into cake batter with lemon zest. Packed in a resealable pouch. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

براعم اللافندر من زينة براعم زهر صالحة للطهي، صغيرة مغلقة بلون بنفسجي رمادي، مفصولة عن السويقات فلا يدخل القدر إلا الجزء العطر. عبيرها زهري عشبي حلو بلمسة كافورية، وهو قوي: ربع ملعقة صغيرة لكل فنجان أو لكل خلطة هي المقدار المناسب عادةً. انقع البراعم في ماء وشك الغليان أربع دقائق للحصول على منقوع فاتح اللون، أو أضفها إلى براد الشاي مع النعناع. ادفن ملعقة منها في وعاء سكر أسبوعاً ليكتسب عطرها لبسكويت الزبدة والكيك والتزيين، أو اغلها في شيرة لعصير الليمون والمشروبات المثلجة، أو أضف رشّة إلى خلطة الكيك مع قشر الليمون. تأتي في كيس قابل لإعادة الإغلاق. يُحفظ في مكان بارد وجاف بعيداً عن أشعة الشمس المباشرة.
