Zeina Cress Seeds 440 g

Zeina Cress Seeds are the small reddish-brown seeds of garden cress, known locally as habb al-rashad, sifted clean and even in size. Dry, they are hard and peppery with a mustard-like sharpness on the tongue; left in liquid they soften and take on a light gel coating within minutes. The most familiar way to use them is stirred by the spoonful into warm milk with date paste or honey, a cup poured on winter mornings. They also go into date balls and biscuit dough, get sprinkled over green salad, labneh and flatbread before baking, and can be added to soups towards the end of cooking. Start with a small measure, as the pepperiness builds. Supplied in a resealable pouch. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

حبّ الرشاد من زينة حبوب صغيرة بلون بنّي ضارب إلى الحمرة، منخولة ومتساوية الحجم. جافة تكون صلبة فلفلية بحدّة تشبه الخردل على اللسان، وإذا تُركت في السائل لانت وأحاطها غلاف هلامي خفيف في دقائق. أشهر طريقة لاستخدامها أن تُحرّك بالملعقة في حليب دافئ مع معجون التمر أو العسل، فنجان يُصبّ في صباحات الشتاء. تدخل كذلك في كرات التمر وعجين البسكويت، وتُرشّ على السلطة الخضراء واللبنة والخبز قبل الخبز، ويمكن إضافتها إلى الشوربات قرب نهاية الطهي. ابدأ بمقدار صغير، فحدّتها الفلفلية تتراكم. تأتي في كيس قابل لإعادة الإغلاق. يُحفظ في مكان بارد وجاف بعيداً عن أشعة الشمس المباشرة.
