Zeina Cinnamon Cigar

Zeina Cinnamon Cigar is whole cinnamon bark rolled and dried into long, tight quills, each one hollow at the centre and reddish-brown outside. Because the quill stays intact, its sweet, woody, faintly hot aroma is released slowly rather than all at once, which suits liquids left on the heat. Drop one into the dallah with cardamom for Saudi coffee, into karak tea with milk and ginger, into stewed lamb, kabsa rice, or a pot of apple and pear compote. Lift the stick out before serving. Toast it lightly in a dry pan to wake the oils, and rinse and dry it after brewing to use a second time. Packed in a resealable pouch that keeps the quills unbroken. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

أعواد القرفة من زينة لحاء قرفة كامل ملفوف ومجفّف في أعواد طويلة محكمة، مجوّفة من الداخل وبنّية ضاربة إلى الحمرة من الخارج. ولأن العود يبقى كاملاً، يتحرّر عطره الحلو الخشبي ذو الحرارة الخفيفة تدريجياً لا مرة واحدة، وهذا ما يناسب السوائل التي تُترك على النار. ضع عوداً في الدلّة مع الهيل للقهوة السعودية، أو في شاي الكرك مع الحليب والزنجبيل، أو في اللحم المطهو ببطء وأرز الكبسة أو قدر كومبوت التفاح والكمثرى. انتشل العود قبل التقديم. حمّصه قليلاً في مقلاة جافة لتنشيط زيوته، واغسله وجفّفه بعد الغلي لاستخدامه مرة ثانية. تأتي في كيس قابل لإعادة الإغلاق يحفظ الأعواد غير مكسّرة. يُحفظ في مكان بارد وجاف بعيداً عن أشعة الشمس المباشرة.
