Zeina Chia Seeds 340 g

The seeds in Zeina Chia Seeds are minute ovals speckled grey, black and cream, smooth and hard until they meet liquid. Stir a spoonful into water, milk or juice and within twenty minutes each seed swells inside a clear gel, thickening the whole glass. That behaviour is what makes them useful in the kitchen: three tablespoons to a cup of milk left overnight sets into a soft pudding, ready for date syrup, mango or chopped pistachio. Sprinkle them dry over yoghurt, labneh and fruit for a light crunch, scatter them across bread dough before baking, or use soaked seeds to bind fritters and batters. The taste is almost neutral. Supplied in a resealable pouch. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

حبوب الشيا من زينة بيضاوية دقيقة منقّطة بالرمادي والأسود والكريمي، ملساء صلبة حتى تلامس السائل. حرّك ملعقة منها في الماء أو الحليب أو العصير، وخلال عشرين دقيقة تنتفخ كل حبة داخل هلام شفاف يُسمّك الكوب كله. هذا التصرّف هو ما يجعلها عملية في المطبخ: ثلاث ملاعق كبيرة لكوب حليب تُترك ليلة كاملة فتتحوّل إلى حلوى طرية جاهزة لدبس التمر أو المانجو أو الفستق المفروم. رُشّها جافة على الزبادي واللبنة والفواكه لقرمشة خفيفة، أو وزّعها على عجينة الخبز قبل الخبز، أو استخدمها منقوعة لربط الأقراص المقلية والخلطات. طعمها شبه محايد. تأتي في كيس قابل لإعادة الإغلاق. يُحفظ في مكان بارد وجاف بعيداً عن أشعة الشمس المباشرة.
