Because the crystals are big and dense they dissolve gradually instead of all at once, which is why a piece is dropped into a glass of tea and left to sweeten it as you drink, or set in a small dish beside the cup and held between the teeth in the old way. Add a few pieces to Saudi coffee, karak, ginger and hibiscus infusions, or use them to sweeten fruit preserves and syrups. Supplied in a resealable pouch that keeps the crystals dry.
